Jean-Claude MARA Jean-Claude MARA

MARS

The flute, emerging from the mists of time, has retained its original simplicity: twenty bamboo tubes, without mechanism, without whistles, sounded only by the breath of a man. It is undoubtedly this simplicity which explains the astonishing richness of the instrument, no mechanical "improvement"* has come to limit its sound possibilities.
The instrument played by Jean-Claude MARA is the distant ancestor of the organ. As soon as you hear them, you will know that they have retained more than a family resemblance: their kinship is dazzlingly obvious and their union is most happy lilies are made for each other, milks to be heard together.
The panpipes adds to the multiple stops of the organ its own, changing, expressive, sensitive sound, its song stands out, rises with inflections of a variety that the keyboard does not allow It is that the heavy machine of the he organ gives way here to the very breath of the performer, to his lips.
You will also be amazed by the power that this flute can achieve : if it works wonders when it whispers, it is capable of the most heartbreaking cry It is by turns plaintive or dazzling and there are few instruments that have such a rich palette.

Pan Flute and Organ : a great marriage of love
